Genting Highlands, 20 — The web series Battle 1212, written and directed by Monsterz, has officially started filming. In an unprecedented move, the production brings together award-winning actress Tiffany Woo and powerhouse performer Cai Peixuan as dual female leads. Their first collaboration in a micro-drama format sparks intense chemistry, earning the show the nickname “a modern workplace palace drama.”

Inspired by the dynamics of Malaysian office culture, Battle 1212 tells the story of two female supervisors who move from competition and misunderstanding to mutual respect and partnership. With two heavyweight actresses at the helm, the characters gain depth, and their confrontational scenes deliver high tension, vividly portraying the harsh realities of workplace pressure.

This marks Tiffany Woo’s return to acting since Forensic JD (2022) and her first attempt at a web micro-series. She revealed that the biggest reason she accepted the role was the extremely short shooting schedule:
“Completing 18 episodes in four days is a huge challenge, but also exciting. I want to see whether I can maintain quality under such intensive filming.”

She plays “Lin Ruobin,” a cool-headed, goal-driven career woman. Woo said that while the character appears strong and composed, the real challenge is expressing the delicate emotions hidden beneath her tough exterior.

Cai Peixuan stars as “Su Manni,” the sales director — a pragmatic, ambitious, emotionally complex woman who carries scars from past wounds. Cai shared:
“Su Manni’s emotional range is huge. It’s a demanding character, but I hope to bring out her ambition, vulnerability, and warmth.”

Supporting cast members Jason Tan, Wen Shaoping, and Wang Jinglin also share multiple impactful scenes with the two leads, adding more depth to the story.

For Monsterz, who is directing both lead actresses for the first time, the experience is both surreal and meaningful:
“Over ten years ago, I was just a small actor running errands for them. I never imagined I would one day direct them. I’m grateful and excited.”

He praised the natural contrast between the two leads:
“Tiffany is calm and restrained, while Peixuan is expressive and emotionally vibrant. The collision of these energies is the core charm of Battle 1212
