Wu Chun and actress Myolie Wu made an appearance on Saturday evening at the opening ceremony of the fourth branch of luxury jade and jewelry brand J Jade & Jewel. Their long-awaited visit to Malaysia drew a large crowd of fans.
Myolie Wu appeared in an elegant black off-shoulder gown paired with a set of jade jewelry custom-designed for her. She confidently walked the runway and frequently interacted with fans by making heart gestures, triggering waves of cheers. She shared that she has always been a jade lover and enjoys collecting accessories. When asked if she buys jewelry as gifts, she joked, “Of course I buy for myself first!” She added that she also gifts jewelry to her mother-in-law and close friends.
Regarding her wedding gift to close friend Nancy Wu, she openly confirmed, “Yes, as the news said, I gifted her a pair of dragon-phoenix bangles. If the brand gives me another set, I’ll gift her again!”
Her visit coincidentally overlapped with Raymond Lam’s concert in Malaysia. Myolie explained that she already watched the show in Hong Kong and must return to Hong Kong soon due to a tight schedule. She shared that her current work focus is in China, where she is filming the historical drama Princess Shang and also participating in Gordon Chan’s new film The Fourth Scene. She emphasized the importance of not overworking, as she still prioritizes time with her family.
Meanwhile, visiting Malaysia again after six years, Wu Chun admitted he missed Malaysian food the most. He recalled that his last visit was in 2019 when he accompanied his daughter Neinei for a ballet competition. In high spirits, he interacted with the host in Cantonese on stage, showing his approachable personality. He said with a smile that he plans to buy jade jewelry for his wife: “Women love accessories. Jade also represents good fortune, peace, and happiness.”
Wu Chun, who has taken fewer acting roles in recent years, said he occasionally receives variety show invitations but still puts family above work: “Filming takes too long. I don’t want to be away from home. Spending time with my kids is the most important.” Having relocated to Shanghai for four years, he happily added that his children’s Chinese has improved rapidly: “Now their Mandarin is even better than mine. The progress they’ve made in four years is truly worth it.”
