Simon Yam Stumbles but Swiftly Recovers with a Roll—His Agility at 70 Impresses the Audience

(Hong Kong, 23rd) The Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association held the “VIRTUOSE: The Art of Haute Couture 2025” event last night (22nd) at Central Pier 4. Many celebrities attended, including Simon Yam and his wife, Qi Qi. While walking toward the photo area, Simon Yam accidentally tripped on the carpet and fell forward, causing his glasses to fly off. The incident startled many, but he quickly regained balance by rolling forward and rising on one knee, impressing the crowd with his agility at age 70.

Actress Deanie Ip, who was giving an interview nearby, rushed toward Simon Yam in shock. Yam immediately assured everyone he was fine, cheerfully saying “Amazing!” and flashing a peace sign, which eased the tension.

Qi Qi then helped him retrieve his glasses and checked whether he was hurt, also examining the spot where he had tripped. The couple continued posing for photos afterward. Speaking to the press, Yam joked that fashion always involves imagination, and he was delighted to have delivered such a dramatic moment unintentionally.

When complimented on his quick reflexes, he laughed and said he was pleased with himself. He also shared that he would be holding a personal photography exhibition on December 11 at the Fringe Club, featuring his recent photos of Hong Kong’s harbor.
