Is the “Mini-App Era” in AI Coming? — The Miracle of Lingguang Flash Apps

Over the past week, I’ve primarily used two AI applications: Google’s Gemini 3.0 and Ant’s Lingguang APP. Their common thread isn’t just their recent launch—it’s their powerful app development capabilities. Gemini 3.0 is hailed by programmers and AI enthusiasts as “the most powerful AI programming tool ever,” but personally, I’m most fascinated by Lingguang, especially its ability to generate AI applications directly from natural language.
In just two weeks, Lingguang users have created 3.3 million “Flash Apps”. For context, as of November 2025, the global App Store had 2.1 million apps, Android markets about 2.1–2.6 million, totaling roughly 3 million. Mainstream mini-programs in China number several million as well. Keep in mind, the App Store has existed for 17 years, and mini-programs for 8 years, whereas Lingguang generated 3.3 million apps in two weeks—a staggering achievement.
Some may argue, “These Flash Apps lack the complexity of commercial apps or mini-programs.” True, but that’s precisely the point: their low barrier allows ordinary users to become developers, unleashing enormous creativity.
These apps may be simple, but just as blogs, social media, and short videos transformed content creation, Flash Apps tap into the long tail of highly personalized needs that conventional apps can’t meet.
Examples:
- My personal weight-loss journey is highly individualized, involving diet, exercise, and sleep. Traditional apps fall short, but with Lingguang, I can create a customized Flash App that embeds my personal data and preferences, providing tailored guidance.
- I own a cat and travel frequently. Standard tools cannot monitor my cat’s real-time state, but a Flash App can generate a “cat status report” instantly.
Users are creating a wide range of applications: games, virtual pets, fitness trackers, travel planners, learning apps, and productivity tools. For instance, soccer player Wang Shuang built a “Football English Learning” Flash App in just 3 minutes. A business heir in Zhejiang developed an automatic email response app with multi-language translation and client management.
And this all happened within two weeks of Lingguang’s launch! Imagine the possibilities in months or years—especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, whose fragmented digital needs could finally be addressed at scale.
Of course, we should temper our optimism. AI app development is just beginning. Yet this path is promising: massive long-tail and fragmented demands will gradually be satisfied, and the practical value of generative AI will become undeniable. Lingguang Flash Apps can not only create static interfaces but also call large AI models, potentially evolving into a full-fledged “Flash App marketplace” integrated with third-party apps via APIs.
It’s easy to foresee that, years from now, Lingguang could become the hub for AI mini-apps. For AI industry observers, every day brings new changes—and most of them are moving in the right direction.
Vinícius' Demand for Top Salary Rejected by Real Madrid, Club Sees It as a “Threat”
According to Mundo Deportivo, contract renewal talks between Vinícius Jr and Real Madrid have stalled due to major salary disagreements. The Brazilian forward reportedly wants to become the club’s highest-paid player, matching Mbappé’s level. Real Madrid sees the demand as an ultimatum and is seriously considering offloading either Vinícius or Rodrygo this summer to maintain financial and locker room stability.
