71-Year-Old Jackie Chan Says He’s Recorded a “Farewell Song,” to Be Released on the Day He Passes

(Beijing, 29th) International kung fu superstar Jackie Chan, now 71, remains active in the film industry. At a promotional event for his new film Guo Jia Jia (title transliterated), Chan revealed that he has already worked with a team to produce a “farewell song.” He said the track will not be released for now and is intended to be made public on the day he passes away.

Speaking at the event on the 28th, Chan reflected on having said goodbye to many relatives and friends over the years, noting that it has made him deeply aware that everyone eventually grows old and life comes to an end. He added that much of what appears on his Weibo account these days revolves around farewells.

Chan described his current mindset as simple: say what needs to be said, do what needs to be done right away, and stop worrying about the unknown.

Earlier, Chan’s white-haired appearance sparked widespread discussion online, with many fans saying they still picture him as he looked in his 40s or 50s. Responding to concerns about aging, Chan said he appreciated that people remember his younger days, adding that growing old is inevitable—and being able to age gradually is, to him, a kind of good fortune.

Born in Hong Kong on April 7, 1954, Chan entered the entertainment industry in 1971 as a stunt performer. His best-known works include Drunken Master, Project A, the Police Story series, Rush Hour, New Police Story, and The Myth. With a career spanning 63 years, Chan has previously said that as long as he can still fight, he hopes to deliver a new film for fans nearly every year.
