On December 30, Japanese football fans received stunning news—J3 club Fukushima United officially announced the signing of legendary Kazuyoshi Miura on loan, marking his return to the J-League after five years!
Miura currently belongs to Yokohama FC and last season was loaned to JFL side Suzuka Point Getters. Now, he will join Fukushima United on loan until June 30, 2026, starting training on January 10. If he plays in the season opener, he will break his own record as the oldest player in J-League history.
After signing, Miura said: “I am honored to join Fukushima United and face new challenges. I will give my all and contribute to the team. Age will not diminish my passion for football, and I thank the club for this opportunity.”
Born in 1967, Miura began his professional career in 1986 and has played in Brazil, Italy, Portugal, and other countries. Next season will be his 41st, making his career truly legendary. Remarkably, he stated: “I want to play until I’m 80. When I realize I can’t play anymore, then I will stop.”
