Barcelona vice-captain Ronald Araujo, 26, has finally returned! According to Mundo Deportivo, he rejoined the squad this Monday at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, with 6,000 fans witnessing his comeback. After “disappearing” for 33 days, Araujo is reportedly overcoming his psychological struggles, though his match return date remains uncertain.

On November 26, Araujo was sent off in the first half of Barcelona’s 0-3 UEFA Champions League defeat to Chelsea, receiving two yellow cards in 44 minutes, becoming the target of intense scrutiny. He subsequently took leave to recover. While officially cited as a stomach infection, the real issue was psychological pressure.

During his absence, Barcelona won all seven matches. Under private training supervision, Araujo has regained confidence in his physical condition, but the club plans a cautious reintegration.

Standing at 1.92 meters, fast, explosive, and strong in duels, Araujo remains one of Barcelona’s top defenders. However, his impulsiveness and occasional mistakes in critical moments remain concerns. Over the past two seasons, he has made key errors in UEFA Champions League matches, causing his Transfermarkt value to drop from €70M to €25M. His return offers hope to Barça, but he must now prove himself once again.
