Leo Ku reveals he’s a dad again; his 56-year-old wife gives birth to their second son

(Hong Kong, Jan 1) Singer-actor Leo Ku and his longtime assistant-turned-wife Lorraine Chan (Chan Wan-ching) registered their marriage in Las Vegas in 2014. The couple welcomed their first son, Kuson, in 2020. Entering 2026, Ku announced on social media that their family has grown again—Kuson has “levelled up” to big brother as Chan has given birth to their second child, another son.

Ku posted a photo on Instagram showing the family holding the newborn’s hand and shared a heartfelt message. He wrote that the arrival was a deeply moving event for him, his wife and Kuson in 2025, and he chose to share the news at the start of 2026. Ku said Kuson had often expressed a wish for a younger sibling. Because both parents grew up with siblings themselves, they value the bond between brothers and sisters—parents can only accompany children for part of life, while siblings may support each other for much longer. Ku added that he is grateful the wish came true and promised to continue being a good husband and father.

The announcement drew congratulatory messages from within the entertainment circle, including a comment from his manager Mani Fok, who wrote, “Life feels complete.”

Separately, earlier reports had claimed Chan had pursued fertility preservation and medical-assisted conception, including attempts in different locations, though the couple have not publicly confirmed all details.

The report also referenced broader public debate around later-in-life childbirth. Last year, actor Wong Chak-fung and his wife Lilian Chan welcomed a daughter, after which Lilian spoke in interviews about conceiving through medical assistance and urged the public to be more supportive of families in similar situations, noting that good medical care and family support can matter greatly.
