Fast Technology reported on January 10 that JD Airlines’ first Airbus A330-200P2F widebody freighter has arrived at Nantong Airport and officially joined the airline’s fleet.
This delivery is particularly significant because it marks the first time JD Airlines has introduced a widebody cargo aircraft, a move expected to further strengthen the fleet’s overall capabilities.
According to JD, the newly delivered A330-200P2F freighter features a maximum takeoff weight of 233 tons and a maximum payload of around 61 tons. It also offers a total cargo hold volume of 453 cubic meters. The main deck is equipped with a fully electric cargo loading system, supporting standard air cargo pallets and accommodating multiple types of freight.
Compared with mid-size narrowbody freighters, this aircraft provides a larger advantage in both range and transport capacity, making it well-suited for a wider variety of cargo missions, including long-haul and intercontinental operations.
After arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport, the aircraft will proceed through its scheduled operational readiness phase. This includes airworthiness inspections, maintenance support preparations, and personnel training—key steps designed to ensure safe and stable entry into service.
In today’s international air cargo market, the A330 freighter family is widely recognized for its flexible cargo configuration and strong adaptability. In recent years, it has played an important role across major cargo corridors in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East. Its typical applications span high-value shipments, e-commerce express parcels, consumer electronics, bulk cargo, and cold-chain transport for fresh goods.
As e-commerce continues to expand and customers demand ever-faster delivery, air logistics is becoming increasingly essential. Over the past few years, JD Airlines has steadily broadened its domestic and international cargo routes, using more stable air capacity to improve delivery efficiency between regions while working in tandem with warehousing and logistics infrastructure to enhance its overall aviation network.
Currently, JD Airlines’ international route network covers countries including South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia, providing stronger support for the rapid growth of cross-border e-commerce logistics.
With the introduction of the A330-200P2F, JD Airlines is set to further upgrade its capacity for high-payload cargo and long-distance transport scenarios, reinforcing its competitiveness in demanding global freight operations.
