On January 19, the A-share market opened higher in the morning but later retreated, with the Shenzhen Component Index and ChiNext Index both turning negative. The half-day turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets reached RMB 1.79 trillion, down RMB 198.5 billion from the previous trading day. Over 3,300 stocks recorded gains across the market.

In sector performance, power grid equipment stocks stood out, with China XD, Dalian Electric Porcelain, and Guangdian Electric hitting the daily limit. Commercial aerospace stocks were active, with Jiuding New Materials and Yuexiu Capital both hitting limit-up. Tourism and hotel stocks strengthened, with Dalian Shengya and Jiuhua Tourism reaching the daily limit. Robotics stocks rose amid fluctuations, including Riying Electronics and Zhejiang Xiantong hitting limit-up, while Wuzhou Xinchun touched the limit.

On the downside, the CPO sector fell, with Cambridge Technology hitting the lower limit. By market close, the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.13%, the Shenzhen Component Index was nearly flat, and the ChiNext Index dropped 0.64%. The morning session saw high volatility with clear rotation among hot sectors.
