(Hong Kong, 16th) Hong Kong actor Alex Fong Lik-sun had a milestone-filled 2025, celebrating both marriage and fatherhood. He first announced on Valentine’s Day that he had married his non-celebrity girlfriend Ye Xuan (Maple), whom he had dated for over two years. Later in the year, around Father’s Day, he revealed another piece of happy news—he was going to become a dad.

On December 12, Fong took to Instagram again to share that Maple had safely given birth to their baby girl, named Isla. Fans quickly noticed how much the father and daughter resemble each other, especially their high-bridged noses.

According to Sing Tao Headline, Isla has now turned one month old, and Fong jokingly said he is “out of confinement” and ready to return to work—though he teased that what he missed most was seeing his fans. Even while getting back to work, the new dad continues to share snapshots and moments with his daughter online.

Fong also revealed that he chose to stay with Maple at a postpartum care centre for the first month, unwilling to be separated from his newborn. In a short video, he shared Maple’s thoughts: she felt her best decision was opting for painless delivery, while Fong’s best decision was spending the first month together at the centre—so she could recover properly and he could learn how to be a first-time father. Fong even joked that Maple said if they could keep those two “key factors,” she’d be open to having two more children.

In the video, Fong is seen holding Isla with a gentle, doting expression, often cuddling and interacting closely with her. Isla’s facial features appear strikingly similar to her dad—chubby cheeks, a round forehead, a defined nose bridge, and a slightly upturned mouth.

Since becoming a father, Fong has also spoken humorously about Maple “ordering” him to have more kids. He explained that she initially wanted three children, changed her mind to just one during a difficult pregnancy, and later came up with a new idea: “If there are three, the middle child might be overlooked—why not have four?” Fong laughed that the plan keeps changing, and while the “fourth” is still up for discussion, he has mentioned hoping for another pregnancy within the year, aiming for “two kids in three years.”
