Google’s flagship AI model, Gemini, is experiencing explosive growth. Since the release of Gemini 2.5 in March 2025, API calls have jumped from around 35 billion to 85 billion by August—an increase of over 140%—while enterprise subscribers have grown to 8 million.

The strong demand for Gemini is expected to further boost Google Cloud’s core server revenue. Experts note that enterprise AI investment often drives spending across Google’s other products. From the outset, Gemini has been strategically integrated into the Google ecosystem, including Workspace, Search, and Cloud services.

Gemini is also fueling software sales based on its model, particularly the Gemini Enterprise edition, which integrates the Gemini chatbot, cross-dataset search, and AI agent development platforms—a key lever for AI business profitability.

Since Gemini 1.0 launched at the end of 2023, Google has quickly iterated to Gemini 3, achieving state-of-the-art performance in multiple benchmarks, while deeply embedding it in Gmail, Workspace, and Search. Partnerships with major players like Apple further drive the creation of a personalized AI-centric ecosystem.

Google plans $91–93 billion in capital expenditures in 2025, nearly double 2024’s $52.5 billion, while Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Apple are also ramping up AI investments. Q3 financials show Google Cloud revenue reached $15.2 billion, up 34%, with AI-driven revenue generating “billions per quarter” and cloud order backlog soaring 46% to $155 billion.

Advertising remains Alphabet’s primary revenue stream, with Gemini-powered AI features boosting user engagement. Search and ad revenue grew 15% YoY to $56.6 billion, with innovations like AI Overview and AI Modes attracting 75 million daily active users. Analysts highlight that Gemini’s integration with Google Cloud is a key factor driving Alphabet’s valuation above $4 trillion.

Google will release its Q4 2025 earnings on February 4, with investors watching closely to see if massive AI investments are starting to pay off.
