On January 22, tech media Mac World reported that Apple internally launched a ChatGPT-like chatbot named Enchanté and a knowledge center app called Enterprise Assistant in November 2025.

Enchanté features a macOS ChatGPT-style interface but is designed for Apple’s strict security requirements. It runs only Apple-approved models, including Apple’s proprietary foundational models as well as Claude and Gemini, entirely on local or private servers.

The tool assists employees with creative ideation, coding, and copy editing, while also deeply analyzing uploaded documents and images—all without sending sensitive data to third parties.

The Enterprise Assistant serves as a central knowledge hub for Apple employees, integrating extensive internal policies and technical documentation. Employees can quickly query executive responsibilities, corporate conduct guidelines, health benefits, and even detailed technical instructions such as “how to configure XXX on an iPhone,” streamlining information retrieval.

Both tools include feedback mechanisms, allowing employees to rate AI responses and even perform side-by-side comparisons of Apple’s proprietary model outputs with third-party models.

Industry experts believe these high-quality, cross-department internal datasets will be used to train and fine-tune Apple’s foundational models. This internal testing approach may be a key step in strengthening Apple Intelligence amid challenges in its development.
