(KUALA LUMPUR, 26th) MTT Shipping & Logistics announced it has received approval from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) to list on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

The company plans to undertake an initial public offering (IPO) involving the issuance of 633.5 million new shares. Managing Director Wong Ling Hing said in a statement that the approval marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company.

He noted that the IPO is expected to be a key driver of MTT’s long-term growth. As part of its strategic plans, MTT intends to expand its service network across Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and China by acquiring additional container vessels with different capabilities, in order to capture rising cargo volumes driven by supply-chain restructuring and production shifts.

Wong added that the company is also developing integrated cargo facilities to support domestic economic growth in East Malaysia by addressing infrastructure gaps and expanding logistics capacity. This is expected to strengthen trade flows between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia and support broader regional development.

MTT Shipping & Logistics provides maritime logistics services, including container liner shipping, vessel leasing, container storage, and related services. Based on its performance in 2024 and the six-month period ended June 30, 2025, the company held the leading market share by coastal trade volume between Peninsular Malaysia, East Malaysia, and Brunei, making it the country’s largest scheduled container liner operator. Its regional operations connecting Southeast Asia and the Far East with the Indian subcontinent have also been growing.

As of Sept 1, 2025, MTT owned the largest Malaysian-flagged container fleet, with an average vessel age of 6.7 years, and it was also the youngest fleet among Malaysian operators.

For the IPO, CIMB Investment Bank serves as the principal adviser, joint global coordinator, joint bookrunner, principal underwriter, and joint underwriter. CLSA and CIMB Securities act as joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners, while Affin Hwang Investment Bank is appointed as a joint bookrunner and joint underwriter.
