(KUALA LUMPUR, 23rd) The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and the Ministry of Finance-owned Urusharta Jamaah have sharply reduced their stakes in SMRT Holdings (SMRT, 0117, ACE Market), cutting their shareholdings to below 5% and ceasing to be substantial shareholders of the company.

According to SMRT Holdings’ substantial shareholder change records, EPF sold 20.99 million shares, representing a 4.59% stake, on Monday (19th). This reduced EPF’s holding to 14.33 million shares or 3.13%, removing it from the substantial shareholder list.

On the same day, Urusharta Jamaah also disposed of 35.75 million shares, equivalent to a 7.81% stake. Its stake fell to 4.66 million shares or 1.02%, likewise exiting the substantial shareholder category.
