On January 27, Apple’s official Tmall store announced its New Year promotional campaign: from 8:00 PM on January 25, 2026, to 11:59:59 PM on February 11, 2026, the Tmall New Year Shopping Festival will be in full swing.

During the promotion, the 256GB iPhone Air, originally priced at ¥7,999, received a ¥2,000 discount. With government subsidies, the final price starts from just ¥5,499! This three-month-old model has now achieved the largest price drop for a newly launched iPhone in Apple’s history.

Following the announcement, the iPhone Air quickly became a hot item, attracting numerous orders. However, some users noticed that their iPhone Air battery’s production date was July 2025, sparking speculation about “inventory units.”

Apple’s official customer service denied these claims. They explained that Apple products are not manufactured after orders are placed, so production dates may differ from purchase dates. Unlike food, electronics do not have an expiration date.

The customer service team also clarified that the actual production details are not visible before shipment, meaning price reductions do not imply sending older devices. Customers concerned about product quality are encouraged to contact Apple’s technical team for inspection and consultation.
