(Jakarta, 25th) Malaysia’s women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan / Thinaah Muralitharan—widely known as the “Leti” combination—were crowned champions at the Indonesia Masters (Super 500) without taking to the court, after their opponents withdrew shortly before the final. The title also marked Malaysia’s first championship of the year.

The finals day of the Indonesia Masters was held today, with the women’s doubles final scheduled as the third match of the session. The top-seeded Malaysian pair was set to face Japan’s Arisa Igarashi / Miyu Takahashi for the title.

However, the Indonesian Badminton Association later confirmed that the Japanese pair had pulled out prior to the match. As a result, Tan/Thinaah were awarded the championship by walkover—their first title of the season and the seventh women’s doubles World Tour title since partnering up.
