(Jakarta, 24th) The women’s doubles semifinals of the Indonesia Masters (Super 500) took place today, with Malaysia’s world No. 2 pair Pearly Tan / Thinaah Muralitharan (“Leti”) facing the host nation’s Apriyani Rahayu / Lanny Tria Mayasari. The two pairs had not met previously.

In the opening game, Tan/Thinaah surged to a 6–1 lead before the Indonesians clawed back to level the score. With the game tied at 8–8, the Malaysians produced a decisive 5–0 run to pull ahead 13–8 and maintained control from there, leading 15–9, 17–11 and 19–13. They reached game point at 20–15 and closed out the first game 21–15.

The second game was even more one-sided. The Malaysians raced to a 3–0 start, and after conceding one point, fired off five straight to move ahead 8–1. Holding a 10–4 advantage, they then went on a dominant 7–0 streak to stretch the lead to 17–4. Tan/Thinaah reached match point at 20–8 and sealed the win 21–9.

Tan/Thinaah advanced with a 21–15, 21–9 victory, booking their place in the Indonesia Masters women’s doubles final for the second consecutive year.
