(Jakarta, 23rd) In the men’s doubles quarterfinals of the 2026 Indonesia Masters (Super 500), Malaysia’s “Cong-Wen” pair Man Wei Chong / Tee Kai Wun faced host duo Sabar Karyaman Gutama / Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. The Indonesians had dominated the rivalry, winning five straight meetings after losing their first encounter. The trend continued today as the Malaysians fell 20–22, 19–21, exiting at the quarterfinal stage.

In the first game, the Indonesian pair took early control, leading 4–1 and 6–3. Man/Tee responded with an explosive eight-point run to turn the tables and went into the interval ahead 11–6. After the break, the Indonesians steadily reeled them back in, closing the gap from 8–12 to 11–14 and 15–18, before leveling at 20–20. They then won the final two points to take the opener 22–20.

The second game was tight early on, tied at 6–6, before the Indonesians pulled away with a 5–0 surge to lead 11–6 at the interval. Man/Tee fought back and narrowed the deficit to 16–17, but remained one to two points behind and could not draw level. The Indonesians sealed the match 21–19.

Earlier, the Malaysia–Korea pairing Ong Yew Sin / Choi Sol Gyu was also knocked out after being overturned by Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard / Mads Vestergaard. After winning the first game 21–15, Ong/Choi lost 20–22 and 14–21 to fall short of the semifinals.

Many believed this was a hidden “retro Easter egg,” but Microsoft has since clarified: it’s a bug, not a feature.
