On January 28, Figure introduced its latest humanoid robot Helix 02, accompanied by a 3.5-minute demonstration video. Beyond basic tasks like unloading dishes, the robot performed highly human-like actions, such as kicking the dishwasher door open with its foot before bending down to close it.

The key breakthrough is unified motion and manipulation. Full-body joint, vision, and tactile data feed into a neural network that outputs complete action sequences, enabling the robot to move, manipulate objects, and maintain balance autonomously in real time.

Helix 02 operates with a three-layer architecture:

  • System 0: High-speed neural network controlling balance and coordination, issuing 1,000 commands per second
  • System 1: Execution layer translating vision and goals into 30 joint movements
  • System 2: High-level reasoning layer for semantic understanding and task planning

It can perform delicate tasks, like picking pills from cluttered boxes or precise liquid dispensing, highlighting industrial and home-care potential.

Figure is valued at $39 billion. Founder Brett Adcock plans to produce 100,000 robots in four years, positioning Helix 02 as a potential trendsetter in humanoid robotics.
