Lei Jun Goes Live Tomorrow Night—Inside Xiaomi’s Beijing EV Factory Lab to Talk Next-Gen SU7 R&D and More

IT Home reported on January 31 that Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, announced via Weibo that he will host a livestream at 8:00 PM on February 1 (tomorrow).

The broadcast will take place inside the laboratory at Xiaomi’s EV factory in Beijing, where Lei plans to give viewers a guided look at parts of the facility.

He described it as a science-and-technology educational session aimed at helping the public better understand how the next-generation SU7 is being developed. He also said he will touch on several recent hot topics around Xiaomi’s vehicles—such as the GT7 and used-car value retention.

Since the start of the year, Lei has already hosted three livestreams—on January 3, January 7, and January 15.

According to IT Home, the January 3 session focused on a “YU7 teardown,” while the January 7 livestream centered on the next-generation SU7 and addressed various questions and skepticism circulating online. That same day, the next-generation SU7 opened for pre-orders with an expected pre-sale price range of RMB 229,900 to RMB 309,900, and is slated for launch in April 2026.

The January 15 livestream then shifted to deeper product details for the next-generation SU7, along with purchase benefits related to the YU7.
