(Kuala Lumpur, 4th)
AEON Bank announced today that its Chief Executive Officer, Raja Dami Maimunah, will officially step down on 31 March 2026.
In a statement, the bank said she joined AEON Bank three years ago and led the institution through its most critical growth phase, steering the digital bank’s journey from the ground up.
Under her leadership, AEON Bank achieved several major milestones, including becoming Malaysia’s first Islamic digital bank, building a cloud-native core infrastructure, and securing the regulatory approvals required for full public operations.
AEON Bank Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director, Gilly Yok, also expressed his sincere appreciation for her contributions.
Reflecting on her tenure, Raja Dami Maimunah said it was a great honor—and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—to lead AEON Bank from zero. “We made history together by establishing the nation’s first Islamic digital bank. I am proud of the infrastructure we built and the exceptional talent we brought together. I believe AEON Bank will continue to thrive,” she said.
The bank added that its board has initiated succession planning to ensure a smooth leadership transition, and details will be announced in due course once regulatory approval is obtained.
