Affin Bank Announces Major Personnel Change; Former Senior Judicial Figure Appointed as Director

(Kuala Lumpur, Feb 6) Affin Bank (AFFIN, 5185, Main Market Financial Services) has announced the appointment of Tan Sri Abang Iskandar as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective Feb 7.

In a statement, the bank said the 66-year-old previously served as President of the Court of Appeal and retired in 2025.

Abang Iskandar has been in Malaysia’s legal and judicial service since 1983, bringing more than 40 years of experience. He held various senior positions in the judiciary before being appointed President of the Court of Appeal in 2023.

Beyond his judicial background, he has also served at Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia, where he led the prosecution and enforcement divisions respectively, building extensive regulatory and enforcement expertise.
