On February 6 (Beijing time), the Round of 16 field for the 2026 Asian Cup women’s singles was officially confirmed. The qualified players are: Sun Yingsha, Ye Yitian, Chen Xingtong, Doo Hoi Kem, Kuai Man, Su Zitong, Miyuu Nagasaki, Wang Yidi, Miwa Harimoto, Kim Na-young, Honoka Hashimoto, Chen Yi, Wang Manyu, Natsuki Akae, Hina Hayata, and Shin Yubin.
Group G1 saw Sun Yingsha surge through the group stage with three straight wins—all by 3–0—to claim top spot and advance in first place. Ye Yitian followed her into the Round of 16 with a 2–1 record, finishing second in the group. India’s “queen” Batra ended at 1–2, while Zaza went winless at 0–3, and both were eliminated.
In Group G2, Wang Manyu also delivered a perfect 3–0 run to secure first place and book her Round of 16 ticket. Japan’s young talent Natsuki Akae progressed as the group runner-up with a 2–1 record, while Mohammed and Lee Yu-zhun were knocked out.
Group G3 belonged to Chen Xingtong, who went unbeaten with three wins—two 3–0 victories and one 3–1—to finish first and move on. Doo Hoi Kem advanced in second place at 2–1. Gao Tongjuan (1–2) and Kamarolova (0–3) were eliminated.
In Group G4, Kuai Man dominated with three consecutive 3–0 wins to top the group. Su Zitong claimed the second qualifying spot with a 2–1 record. Zeng Jian finished third at 1–2, while Sahakian went 0–3, and both failed to advance.
Group G5 featured a flawless campaign from Miyuu Nagasaki, who swept the group with three wins (two 3–0s and one 3–1) to qualify in first place. China’s Wang Yidi advanced as runner-up at 2–1. Shu Linxi finished 1–2 and Mirkadirova went 0–3, ending their runs in the group stage.
In Group G6, Miwa Harimoto sealed first place with three straight 3–1 victories to punch her Round of 16 ticket. Korea’s key player Kim Na-young progressed in second at 2–1, while Savitabut and Ghosh were eliminated.
Group G7 saw Honoka Hashimoto take command with a 3–0 record, highlighted by two 3–0 wins and one 3–1 victory. Chen Yi moved on as runner-up with a 2–1 finish. Paranan and Chen Zhaoyun were knocked out.
Finally, Group G8 was led by Hina Hayata, who completed a perfect 3–0 group stage to advance in first. Shin Yubin followed in second with a 2–1 record, while Huang Yu-jie and Akasheva were eliminated.
