Great Wall Reveals the Exterior of Wey’s New Flagship V9X, Inspired by Traditional Eastern Architectural Aesthetics

IT Home reported on February 7 that Great Wall Motor’s WEY brand unveiled the official exterior images of its new flagship SUV—the WEY V9X—earlier this morning. According to the company, the model draws inspiration from classic Eastern architectural aesthetics, guided by the philosophy of “simplicity at its core, presence without compromise.”

In the official photos, the V9X features a roof-mounted LiDAR unit and a clean, confident front-end design. The overall styling leans into the poised, premium character expected of a large six-seat SUV. One standout detail is its upscale two-tone “purple-and-gold” color scheme, designed to emphasize a stronger sense of texture and refinement.

The timing is notable: just yesterday, the WEY V9X appeared in the latest batch of filings released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The vehicle is positioned as the first SUV built on Great Wall’s “Guiyuan” platform, described as an “AI luxury six-seat flagship SUV.” Great Wall Chairman Wei Jianjun has also spoken highly of the project, calling it a major symbol of pride for Baoding.
