On February 12, IT Home reported that automotive outlet CarBuzz published a post on February 11, sharing a set of spy photos that show the facelifted BMW M5 Touring undergoing winter testing.

Up front, the prototype features a more aggressive lower bumper with vertically segmented styling. The signature kidney grille appears slightly smaller than the current model, though a bit larger than earlier test mules. At the rear, despite the snow coverage, the photographer confirmed the car will receive updated taillights.

On the powertrain side, to comply with revised European emissions regulations, the EU-spec V8 is expected to lose around 40 horsepower. BMW is reportedly planning to offset that reduction by increasing the electric motor’s output, keeping the combined system total at 717 horsepower.
