(Taipei, 13th) Taiwanese “Queen of Love Ballads” Della Ding has released her latest curated album, Loving Myself a Million Times, featuring four brand-new tracks, two newly arranged classics, and one tribute cover.

Among them, her iconic hit Guess Not Through returns 18 years later with a refreshed arrangement. What once conveyed heartbreak and emotional entanglement now reflects maturity, release, and emotional clarity.

Ding shared that she has been performing the song for over a decade, and each stage of her life has brought a different emotional interpretation. “Now, when I sing it again, I feel more acceptance and calm toward love,” she said.

The original music video featured Mayday’s bassist Masa in a cameo role. Eighteen years later, Ding takes center stage herself, showcasing noticeable growth both vocally and in her on-screen performance.

The music video shoot took place in just 8°C weather and included rain scenes. Ding personally filmed multiple takes in the rain. She joked during the first take, “It’s cold, but it feels great!” However, by the second round, she admitted she felt “frozen solid.” The stunning visuals were achieved through sheer perseverance.

During filming by the seaside, Ding, dressed in a red gown, walked toward the shore when a passing driver rolled down his window and shouted, “Miss, please don’t do anything rash!” mistakenly thinking she was distressed. The unexpected but well-intentioned moment became one of the day’s most memorable highlights.

Ding reflected that the beauty of love songs lies in how they evolve with time. She hopes both the original and new versions of Guess Not Through can resonate with listeners at different stages of their lives.
