(Washington, 13th) To mark America’s 250th anniversary, Forbes released its list of the 250 Greatest Living Innovators on the birthday of Thomas Edison. Elon Musk ranked first, while Jensen Huang placed fifth.

Forbes described innovation as the engine of economic growth. The ranking was based on creativity, breadth, disruption, and commercial impact, with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini assisting in evaluation.

Musk was recognized as the only entrepreneur spanning five major industries through Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, xAI, and The Boring Company.

Jeff Bezos ranked second, Bill Gates third, and filmmaker George Lucas fourth — the only non-tech figure in the top five.

Jensen Huang earned recognition for transforming Nvidia from a gaming GPU company into a global AI powerhouse with annual revenue of about US$187 billion.

More than one-third of the list consists of women and minority innovators.
