Vanness Wu Drops a New Valentine’s Day MV, Flaunting a Vintage Car—“Time to Compete with Jay Chou!”

(Taipei, Feb 15) Singer-actor Vanness Wu has released a brand-new album, Dance Until We Die, marking his first full album in three years. On Feb 13, he dropped the music video for his second lead single, “Ur The Reason,” sparking fresh buzz—describing it as a special gift for fans ahead of Valentine’s Day and the festive season.

According to local reports, classic cars appear across several of his recent releases, including “Heng Xing Bu Wang,” “Dance Until We Die,” and “Ur The Reason.” Wu joked, “I thought I’d compete a bit with Jay—he has a lot of driving scenes.”

The vintage-car imagery, however, carries symbolic meaning. The white car and his flowing white outfit create a dreamy visual, as if he’s “riding the clouds” toward a road of happiness. Wu also shared a behind-the-scenes moment: forecasts predicted rain all week, and Taipei was still drenched the day before filming. He even asked the team whether they should move the shoot to southern Taiwan—yet the sun came out on the actual filming day, and everything went smoothly. “I felt very lucky—it was a beautiful day, like we were blessed,” he said.

Directed by Han Sa-min—who has previously worked with BIGBANG and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo—the “Ur The Reason” MV uses black-and-white visuals to express love in its purest form. Wu explained that the English lyrics focus on a kind of love that everyone can feel—open, generous, and unconditional—so the Chinese version was written along the same direction.

Meanwhile, the “F✦FOREVER” tour is set to head to Shenzhen and Wuhan in March for multiple shows, all of which are sold out. Wu will continue bringing the album’s energy to the stage through music and dance, sharing the experience with fans live.
