34-Year-Old Casemiro Visits Miami! Expected to Join Inter Miami This Summer, Potentially Teammate No.28 with Messi & Ronaldo

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, 34, is set to leave Manchester United on a free transfer this summer. According to AS on February 22, Casemiro and his family recently visited Miami, USA, meeting with Inter Miami management. He is expected to join the MLS side and team up with Lionel Messi.

From Real Madrid to Manchester United, Casemiro has established himself as a world-class defensive midfielder, winning five Champions League titles during his Madrid era. In summer 2022, he joined Manchester United for €71 million, and though inconsistent at times, he became a key starter under Carrick, performing at a high level.

Casemiro has confirmed his departure from Manchester United this summer. English media, including The Sun, report he has multiple options: return to Porto, play in São Paulo, move to the Saudi League, or join MLS. Inter Miami is highly interested, and under FIFA rules, Casemiro can negotiate freely with any club as his contract has less than six months remaining.

Inter Miami aims to fill the defensive midfield gap left by Busquets, strengthening the team’s fragile backline. In the 2025 MLS season opener, Miami lost 0-3 to Los Angeles FC, exposing defensive weaknesses. At 34, Casemiro could maintain high-level performance in MLS for at least three years.

If he joins, Casemiro would become Messi’s teammate. Historically, only 27 players have played alongside both Messi and Ronaldo in the same club. Casemiro has the chance to become the 28th, adding a new chapter to football history.
