“Kung Fu Hustle’s ‘Beast’ Leung Siu-Lung” Remains Unburied Two Months After Death; Disciple Reveals Marriage Was in Name Only, Divorce Requested 12 Times

(Hong Kong, March 22) Martial arts actor Leung Siu-lung, best known for his iconic role as the “Beast” in Kung Fu Hustle, passed away on January 14 at the age of 75, shocking the entertainment industry. However, controversies surrounding his posthumous affairs have continued to unfold.

His close disciple has been actively updating Leung’s social media accounts, posting messages written in his voice, which has drawn widespread attention. The disciple recently claimed that Leung has yet to be buried, even two months after his passing, and alleged that his marriage with his wife Song Xiang had long been in name only.

According to the posts, the couple had reportedly lived separately for years, and Leung had attempted to file for divorce up to 12 times without success.

The disciple’s posts questioned why Leung’s remains had not been laid to rest and alleged that his ashes are being kept at a funeral home for free storage for up to 10 years. The posts also accused his “legally still married wife” of rarely staying in contact during his lifetime, yet publicly expressing affection after his passing. It further claimed she did not accompany him during his heart surgery and that they had lived separately within the home for many years.

In response, Song Xiang issued a formal statement in early February, firmly denying the claims. She emphasized that Leung had never authorized anyone to manage his social media accounts and criticized the unauthorized operation of the account, including alleged commercial activities, as illegitimate.

To counter rumors of marital discord, Song also shared several family photos featuring Leung and their children. In the images, the family appears warm and close. She captioned the post, “We miss you,” expressing her grief and addressing public speculation.

Leung Siu-lung had two marriages in his lifetime. After divorcing his first wife Lai Oi-lin, he married Song Xiang in 1995, who is 20 years younger than him, and they have two children together. His passing, followed by ongoing disputes, has left many feeling a deep sense of сожаление and reflection.
