Songwriter Bekuh Boom Accuses YG of Exploitation and Forced Abortion, Claims BLACKPINK Looked On, Sparking Controversy

(Seoul, 19th) South Korean entertainment giant YG Entertainment is facing controversy after American songwriter Bekuh Boom made explosive claims on social media about her past experiences working with a Korean company.

Bekuh Boom alleged that when she was a teenager preparing to sign a contract, she was pressured after revealing her pregnancy. She claimed she was told that keeping the child would end her career and life, and was urged to undergo an abortion. She refused and returned to the United States, losing contact with the company for years.

She later discovered that recordings she had contributed to were used in released songs without her knowledge until after they became global hits. She also claimed she faced verbal abuse during the creation of Typa Girl and was not informed prior to the release of Money, resulting in disputes over compensation.

In her video, she stated that “everyone knew, but no one protected me,” which sparked speculation involving BLACKPINK. Her interaction with comments suggesting the group remained silent further fueled public debate.

Bekuh Boom has collaborated with YG since 2012 and contributed to over 30 songs, including hits like BOOMBAYAH, “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Kill This Love,” and Eyes Nose Lips.

As of now, no official response has been issued, but the controversy continues to gain traction online.
