(Tokyo, 19th) Former Hinatazaka46 member Suzuka Tomita is reportedly facing financial difficulties less than a year after graduating and pursuing a solo career.

The 25-year-old recently appeared on the variety show Chidori no Oni Renchan, competing in a singing challenge with a prize of 2 million yen. During a pre-show interview, she revealed that her workload has significantly decreased since leaving the group—now averaging only one job per week, with income dropping to about a quarter of what she earned as an idol.

Tomita admitted she is currently living frugally and struggling to pay rent, hoping the prize money could help ease her financial burden.

Unfortunately, she did not win the competition and broke down in tears on the show, saying, “I might not be able to survive like this.” The clip quickly went viral.

Public reactions have been mixed—while many fans expressed support and encouragement, others criticized her, suggesting she should seek alternative employment rather than relying solely on entertainment opportunities.
