Enter the Earth Kingdom! Netflix’s Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Returns on June 25

(Kuala Lumpur, April 3) Netflix has officially announced that Season 2 of its live-action hit Avatar: The Last Airbender will premiere on June 25. Alongside the announcement, the platform released new visuals and behind-the-scenes insights, giving fans an early look at the production and cast dynamics.

The main cast returns, including Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, and Elizabeth Yu as Azula. A major highlight this season is the introduction of Toph, portrayed by newcomer Miyako. Additional cast members include Maria Zhang and Daniel Dae Kim, further enriching the storyline.

Season 2 continues directly from the first season. After defending the Northern Water Tribe, Aang embraces his responsibility to master all four elements—water, earth, fire, and air. Together with Katara and Sokka, he journeys to the Earth Kingdom to seek support from its king in the fight against Fire Lord Ozai and restore balance to the world. Behind-the-scenes footage also reveals the cast’s enthusiasm and dedication to this new chapter.

The production team remains strong, with Christine Boylan serving as executive producer and writer, while Jabbar Raisani takes on both directing and executive producing roles. Directors Anu Menon, Amit Gupta, and Kamata Hiromi also contribute, alongside executive producers Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, Brendan Ferguson, and Albert Kim, ensuring the series maintains its high production quality.
