Marketed as a fully live broadcast with no audio editing or cuts—including live-streamed rehearsals—the show aimed to deliver raw and authentic performances. However, in practice, some live segments were abruptly halted, and the recent first evaluation round was switched from live to pre-recorded, sparking public discussion.

Taiwanese star Jiang Yuchen drew particular attention after suddenly leaving the recording set on April 8. According to reports, she had posted a message early on April 7 seeking legal assistance in California, though the post has since been deleted. While rumors briefly circulated about her withdrawal from the show, insiders have denied these claims. Still, her unexpected departure has fueled widespread speculation.

During the first evaluation rehearsal, Jiang reportedly struggled with her performance, making repeated mistakes and having difficulty remembering lyrics and choreography. Shortly after completing her segment, she exited the set.

In widely shared footage online, Jiang is seen suddenly standing up, grabbing her handbag and documents, and signaling to the host and fellow contestants that she needed to leave. After giving a respectful bow, she quickly jogged toward the exit, appearing visibly anxious and serious. Before leaving, she waved apologetically to staff and teammates. The host later reassured everyone, saying, “Sister Yuchen needs to attend to some personal matters urgently. We wish her well and fully understand.”
