(Hong Kong, April 8) Veteran actor Yu Yang, 77, once widely recognized as TVB’s go-to “wealthy tycoon” character under TVB, has largely stayed out of the public eye since completing the drama Modern Dynasty in 2021 and returning to Canada for retirement. Recently, however, he made a rare public appearance at the 65th birthday celebration of his industry friend Chung Chi Kwong, drawing renewed attention to his current condition.

According to Hong Kong media, photos shared by actress So Yan Chi show Yu Yang dressed casually in a green long-sleeve shirt paired with a black vest, reflecting a relaxed post-retirement lifestyle.

Despite his age, Yu Yang appeared energetic and in good spirits, with a healthy complexion. He was seen joyfully reuniting with longtime friends including Lui Yau Wai, Lo Yuen Yan, Suen Wai Lin, and Ng Woon Yee. From cutting the birthday cake together to giving thumbs-up gestures, his warm smile and approachable demeanor sparked a wave of nostalgia among fans.

While he still carries the unmistakable aura of the “classic tycoon” roles he once portrayed, observers noted that Yu Yang appears noticeably slimmer compared to recent appearances, adding another layer of attention to his latest public outing.
