(Taipei, April 19) Taiwanese entertainer Lotus Wang recently sparked online debate after posting a selfie that showed a noticeably different appearance. Many netizens commented that they “couldn’t recognize her” and accused her of using heavy filters.

Instead of reacting negatively, Wang responded with humor and composure. In the photo, she was seen wearing a deep red leather jacket while seated in a high-speed rail business class cabin. Her unusually smooth skin and altered facial features drew widespread attention.

When questioned about using extreme filters, she replied playfully, “Not the strongest—just halfway.” To comments suggesting she should stop editing her photos, she responded, “I can’t help it.”

Some even joked that the image looked “AI-generated,” which she openly acknowledged, admitting she used beauty filters and joking, “I can’t control my fingers.”

When others criticized her face as appearing “too stiff” and suggested further cosmetic procedures, she humorously replied, “That’s enough—I’m out of money.”

Responding to fans who preferred her more natural look, Wang candidly said, “There’s no going back—I’ve aged,” adding with a lighthearted tone, “If you forget, just let it go with the wind.”

Her relaxed and confident attitude toward appearance and aging reflects a refreshing sense of self-acceptance, as she emphasized she simply wanted to “try a different vibe.”
