Beijing, July 28 — Hannah Quinlivan, wife of Mandopop superstar Jay Chou, recently appeared on the Chinese reality show Chinese Restaurant 10, where she surprised viewers by revealing that she actually feels more comfortable being called "Hannah" rather than "Kunling." The revelation quickly became a trending topic on Weibo.

Many netizens were surprised to learn that "Kunling" is not her surname and given name as commonly believed. Instead, the name is derived from the Chinese transliteration of her father's surname, Quinlivan, from her full English name Hannah Quinlivan. She later adopted it as her stage name when entering the entertainment industry, leading many to mistakenly assume that her surname was "Kun."

During the programme, Hannah shared that "Hannah" feels closer to her true identity than her stage name. Her comments surprised many viewers, with some joking that they had misunderstood her name for years.

It was also revealed that her official Chinese name is Wu Yizhen, taking her mother's surname "Wu." The name has rarely been mentioned publicly, and its disclosure has once again sparked widespread discussion online.
