HONG KONG/KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 – After 10 years together, Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung and Lisa Ch'ng, daughter of a Malaysian Datuk, are finally tying the knot. The couple will exchange vows this Sunday (Aug. 2) at the Kuala Lumpur Marriott Hotel.

Despite having only about two months to prepare for the big day, the couple said the planning process has been smooth with the help of a professional team. They described the experience as both exciting and hectic, admitting they expect plenty of nerves once the ceremony begins.

Known for her impeccable taste, Lisa has invested more than HK$1 million (around RM520,000) in her bridal wardrobe, including her ceremony gown, pre-wedding outfits and evening reception dresses. Inspired by her Shanghai heritage through her mother, she commissioned a renowned Shanghai designer to create a minimalist yet elegant custom wedding gown.

During an earlier pre-wedding photoshoot in Hong Kong, Lisa also became the first Hong Kong celebrity to wear The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo Autumn/Winter 2026 bridal collection, Twilight Stellaris, turning heads with the luxurious look.

On the wedding day, she will also wear a bespoke traditional Chinese qungua by Malaysian label Diao, along with an embroidered Chinese gown. For the evening banquet, she has selected creations from The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo, Shanghai-based Woo Select, and Lebanese couture house Zuhair Murad.

To preserve their memories, the couple travelled to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur for pre-wedding photos, while a wedding film was shot in Guangzhou. The video incorporates AI technology with light-hearted storytelling to showcase memorable moments from their decade-long relationship.

Speaking about the proposal, Lisa admitted she had stopped expecting a surprise despite Mat's earlier hints about marriage. However, during the Guangzhou wedding video shoot, he unexpectedly dropped to one knee in the middle of the street, leaving her both shocked and deeply touched.

The couple also expressed gratitude to their family, friends, media members and production team for their unwavering support, saying they look forward to celebrating their special day with everyone on Aug. 2.
