Sammo Hung Makes Rare Three-Generation Appearance, Sweet Grandparent-Grandchild Moments Leave Timmy Hung “Jealous”

HONG KONG, July 19 – Hong Kong martial arts legend Sammo Hung recently appeared alongside his son Timmy Hung, daughter-in-law Janet Chow and grandson TJ Hung on TVB's reality programme Family Legacy 2, giving viewers a rare glimpse into the close bond shared by three generations of the Hung family.

Throughout the programme, Sammo and his eldest grandson, TJ, displayed an especially affectionate relationship. TJ happily massaged his grandfather's shoulders, leaned on him affectionately and spent much of the episode by his side, prompting Timmy to joke, "Dad is happy doing anything as long as his grandson is with him."

Sammo admitted he always feels warm and happy whenever he spends time with TJ. However, his grandson also playfully exposed one of his grandfather's secrets by revealing that Sammo occasionally sneaks fried chicken, leaving the veteran actor laughing in embarrassment.

The father-son relationship between Timmy and TJ was equally touching. The pair frequently hugged and even shared affectionate kisses on camera. When Timmy asked why TJ was always so attached to him, the young boy shyly replied, "Because you're often away, so I want to spend more time with you."

Timmy also tested his son's acting skills during the show, but TJ repeatedly forgot his lines, creating plenty of light-hearted moments.

Reflecting on his son, Timmy said TJ shares many of his own qualities, including being emotional, caring deeply for others and always looking after those around him. He believes these values were passed down from Sammo.

The programme also featured the family's traditions, with Sammo and Timmy teaching TJ the Hung family's stick-fighting techniques before the three cooked the traditional hometown dish, golden egg dumplings, together for the first time.

Although both his father and grandfather guided him throughout the cooking session, TJ found making the delicate egg dumplings surprisingly challenging, leading to plenty of laughter from the family.

Sammo also shared that he learned his own cooking skills by observing experienced chefs at local street food stalls when he was younger.
