Top 10 Female Contestants of Midlife, Sing & Shine 4 Showcase Intangible Cultural Heritage, Four Inspiring Dream-Chasing Stories Revealed

HONG KONG, July 17 – The Top 10 contestants of TVB's Midlife, Sing & Shine 4 have officially been unveiled, with the broadcaster launching a new promotional campaign inspired by the spirit of traditional craftsmen.

The campaign pairs each contestant with a Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage craft, symbolising their dedication, perseverance and pursuit of excellence on their musical journey.

Among the newly released promotional photos, Choi Mat Chit performs a traditional lion dance, Hui Wan Nei learns the art of making embroidered shoes, Yau Suk Ching paints Canton enamel porcelain, while Hui Mei Kei practises mahjong tile carving.

Despite her petite frame, Choi impressed with her powerful lion dance performance, sharp expressions and well-defined abs. She currently works as a retail assistant by day and performs as a lounge singer at night while competing in the programme.

Choi revealed that she returned to singing competitions after more than a decade because of financial pressure.

"I lent money to a close friend for the first time, but it hasn't been repaid after two years. I joined the competition hoping to win the prize money so I can better support my family and give my child a better life," she said.

Veteran lounge singer Hui Wan Nei, who has performed professionally for more than 20 years, compared pursuing dreams to making embroidered shoes—requiring patience and persistence, one stitch at a time.

"I may not be the first person to be noticed, but I'm willing to wait for my moment. This is an opportunity I've waited 20 years for," she shared.

Yau Suk Ching said she values personal growth throughout the competition, likening herself to Canton enamel art that requires patience and continuous refinement.

Meanwhile, Hui Mei Kei travelled from Scotland to Hong Kong to join the competition and even resigned from her long-time job to pursue her dream.

"There will be setbacks, but I won't give up. I'll keep going until the end," she said.
