KK Unveils Stand-Up Show Guest Line-up, Admits Box Office Fell Short of Expectations: “The Pressure Is Huge”

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 – With his 30th anniversary concert just around the corner, former radio DJ KK Wong (Wong Kok Cheong) has announced the final guest line-up for "30 Together: Still Alive, Still a Miracle", featuring longtime friends Peggy Cheong, Chan Kah Leong and Rickman Chia.

According to KK, the trio have witnessed different chapters of his life and career, and immediately agreed to support him on stage as he celebrates three decades in the entertainment industry.

He said the concert is not only a way to thank fans who have stood by him over the years, but also an opportunity for the guests to share stories about the "real KK" behind the spotlight.

KK and Chan Kah Leong first met while working together at radio station 988. During the concert, Chan will play the role of a "judge", humorously putting KK on trial in what promises to be one of the show's highlights.

Meanwhile, Rickman Chia will portray what KK describes as his "ideal self", revealing a side of the entertainer that audiences rarely get to see beyond his comedic image.

Longtime partner Peggy Cheong, who has known KK for more than 30 years, will be performing without rehearsal due to work commitments. Instead, the pair will rely entirely on their chemistry and spontaneous interaction on stage.

As a gesture of appreciation to his fans, KK has set a flat ticket price of RM88 for all seats, hoping to make the milestone celebration more accessible.

However, he admitted ticket sales have yet to meet expectations, while increasing production costs to enhance the stage presentation have added to the pressure.

"I'm really feeling the pressure now," KK said with a laugh. "I hope everyone will come and support me, complete this 30-year report card with me, and prove that 'being alive is already a miracle.'"

The concert will be held on July 25 at 8:00 p.m. and July 26 at 3:00 p.m. at D Theatre Malaysia, with all tickets priced at RM88 (excluding booking and processing fees).
