HONG KONG, July 3 – Former TVB actress Bernice Liu, 47, has become the centre of attention after reports linked her romantically to 70-year-old businessman and former Tung Wah Group of Hospitals chairman Lui Lai Cheung.

The couple's 23-year age gap quickly made headlines across Hong Kong. While many assumed the relationship had been kept under wraps, observant fans later discovered that Liu had actually shared multiple photos with Lui on Instagram long before the romance became public.

According to Hong Kong media, the pair have frequently attended upscale banquets, wine and culinary events, and various social gatherings together over the years.

Fans noticed that in many group photos, Lui was almost always standing beside Liu, prompting speculation that the two had been far closer than ordinary friends.

The pair have also been photographed attending international food and wine events, where their relaxed body language and natural chemistry fuelled further discussion online.

Although he maintains a low public profile, Lui comes from one of Hong Kong's well-known philanthropic families. A practising architectural consultant, he also serves as a director of several listed companies and previously chaired the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in the 1990s.

He was later appointed a Justice of the Peace and served on Hong Kong's Town Planning Board, establishing a strong reputation within the city's business and charitable communities.

Sources familiar with the pair said they share a passion for fine dining and wine, while Lui's extensive business experience and network have reportedly supported Liu's restaurant ventures in recent years, making them compatible both personally and professionally.
