(Kuala Lumpur, Aug. 1) The finale chapter of TVB drama Crime Beyond Bounds, titled Obsessive Lover, delivers a gripping love triangle starring Moon Lau, Karl Yuen and Stich Yu. Moon Lau takes on the role of Angie, a seemingly gentle ex-wife whose obsession gradually turns deadly, earning praise from viewers for her dramatic transformation.

Moon said the script prompted her to rethink relationships, adding that genuine love should be about growing together and making each other happy rather than possession or control.

The story follows designer Davis (Karl Yuen), who maintains an amicable relationship with his ex-wife Angie before falling in love with psychic Sylvia (Stich Yu). However, Sylvia's mysterious disappearance and subsequent murder trigger a shocking investigation that eventually reveals Angie as the mastermind behind the tragedy.

Yuen admitted he is nothing like Davis in real life. While the character is outgoing, carefree and charming, he described himself as an introvert who enjoys staying at home. Understanding Davis' personality became one of his biggest acting challenges.

Asked whether he could be considered an "obsessive boyfriend," Yuen laughed and said he would never control his partner. He simply hopes she lets him know she is safe. "It's not about distrust—it's because life is unpredictable," he explained.

Having previously worked together on The Invisibles and Secret Door, Moon Lau and Karl Yuen reunited for their third collaboration. Both said their strong chemistry made filming emotional and intimate scenes much easier.

The pair singled out the climactic 20-minute confrontation as the most emotionally demanding sequence. Yuen revealed he cried continuously for more than 10 minutes during filming and remained overwhelmed even after the director called cut, spending another half hour in tears off camera.

Moon added that she has always loved psychological thrillers and spent time researching similar real-life cases to better understand her character's mindset.

When asked if she possesses any "obsessive partner" traits in real life, Moon joked that her biggest weakness is housework. She laughed that she would probably "explode" if her future husband kept moving items she had carefully organised. However, she stressed that the one thing she could never forgive in a relationship is infidelity, saying she would never give a cheating partner a second chance.
