(Taipei, 11 Sep) Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu recently revealed that he quietly keeps up with his son Harrison Yu’s social media activities, despite rarely interacting publicly with him online.
Appearing on the programme “静请期戴,” Yu recalled once secretly entering his son’s livestream. However, fans quickly recognised his account and began commenting that “Harlem Yu is in the livestream!”
Realising he had been spotted, Yu immediately left the livestream, later joking that he behaved “like a thief.” Laughing at himself, he questioned why he was embarrassed, adding that there was nothing unusual about a father watching his own son.
Yu explained that he is not the type of parent who constantly monitors his child. Instead, he prefers to quietly follow Harrison’s updates without interfering.
As Harrison becomes increasingly active in entertainment, Yu believes his adult son should take responsibility for the career path he has chosen. Before Harrison entered showbiz, Yu had already reminded him that he would need to handle both praise and criticism on his own.
Rather than stepping in whenever problems arise, Yu prefers to support his son quietly while allowing him to learn how to deal with the pressures of being in the public eye.
