Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Leak: 6.9-Inch Giant Screen, Major Triple Camera Upgrade, Powered by 2nm A19 Pro Chip
Recently, rumors about Apple’s 2025 flagship, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, have been intensifying. Supply chain sources indicate that this model, dubbed the “biggest redesign ever,” has completed engineering validation and is expected to be officially unveiled on September 10, with sales starting on September 19.
For the first time, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a horizontally arranged camera module, with three lenses and a LiDAR sensor aligned in a strip, earning it the nickname “Google Pixel look-alike” among netizens. The device’s frame returns to aluminum material, while the back combines metal and glass in a hybrid design. The thickness increases to 8.725mm, which insiders speculate is to accommodate a larger battery. The screen upgrades to a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, with the Dynamic Island reduced by about 20%, supporting an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz.
Under the hood, the new phone is powered by the world’s first TSMC 2nm process A19 Pro chip, boasting over 15% improvement in CPU and GPU performance compared to its predecessor. It also features the largest memory in iPhone history at 12GB. Apple introduces for the first time a vapor chamber (VC) heat dissipation plate combined with graphene cooling to address overheating during high-performance tasks.
The imaging system undergoes a major upgrade, with the main, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto lenses all enhanced to 48MP, supporting 8K video recording and editing. The front camera is upgraded to 24MP, with beauty algorithms reportedly trained on tens of millions of Asian facial data.
Battery capacity may exceed 5000mAh, supporting 40W wired fast charging and reverse wireless charging. Additionally, Apple’s self-developed 5G modem is expected to debut but will only support the Sub-6GHz band. The Face ID module is further miniaturized, while under-display fingerprint recognition remains in testing.
Currently, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory has begun mass production preparations. The starting price is expected to rise to 10,999 RMB. Japanese suppliers reveal that the initial shipment volume of this model will increase by 30% compared to the previous generation, with China remaining the priority market.
