Trump Pauses Iran Strike Plans, Backed by Lawmaker: “This Is Why His Approval Hits 56%”
On June 19, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to hold off on military strikes against Iran, citing a possible window for diplomatic negotiations. The move won praise from Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who applauded Trump's restraint and linked it to his 56% approval rating. The White House confirmed a final decision will be made within two weeks.
Trump Adjusts Iran Policy as Greene Praises His Popularity Surge
U.S. President Donald Trump has chosen to delay military action against Iran, instead signaling openness to diplomacy. Speaking on June 19, White House spokesperson Levitt stated that Trump would decide within two weeks whether to proceed with an attack. The possibility of negotiations with Tehran was described as “significant.”
Lawmaker Applauds Diplomacy, Ties It to High Approval
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced strong support for Trump's decision via social media, writing:
“I’m glad President Trump is allowing time for diplomacy with Iran and Israel. Any other president would be dropping bombs and cheering on endless war without regard for innocent lives.”
She added, “This is why he’s polling at 56%! Americans want cheaper gas, food, and housing—not another foreign war.” Greene has consistently opposed deeper U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts, aligning with the populist base of Trump’s MAGA movement.
White House Emphasizes Nuclear Containment But Leaves Room for Peace
Levitt reiterated that the administration’s top objective remains preventing Iran from enriching uranium or acquiring nuclear weapons. However, diplomacy is now under active consideration.
“The president’s decision will depend on Iran’s actions in the coming days,” he said.
The two-week timeframe is a familiar Trump tactic from his prior presidency, often used to delay or shift key decisions.
Internal GOP Split as MAGA Bloc Warns Against War
The Iran-Israel conflict has created visible tensions within Trump’s Republican base. While some push for stronger military action, figures like Greene stress domestic priorities over foreign interventions.
“Let’s focus on fixing America,” she said in a separate post. “Americans are paying for this government—we deserve leadership that prioritizes peace, not war.”
