Genshin Impact Responds to NVIDIA GPU Launch Issues: Possible Link to AI Frame Generation

September 26 – miHoYo’s official Genshin Impact Weibo account has issued a statement after receiving reports from PC players using NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 and RTX 40 series graphics cards. According to user feedback, some players encountered critical issues preventing the game from launching.

The reported issue manifests as crashes when attempting to open the launcher or start the game. In some cases, the launcher itself fails, while in others the game crashes outright. Importantly, this issue is not limited to Genshin Impact alone but may affect other titles as well.

After investigation, miHoYo noted that the root cause may be related to NVIDIA’s AI Frame Generation feature. To help affected players, the studio has recommended the following fixes:

• Method 1: Navigate to NVIDIA App > Graphics > Global Settings and disable AI Frame Generation.
• Method 2: Verify that both the game installation path and launcher installation path use only English characters and contain no special symbols.

For players still experiencing problems, miHoYo encourages reaching out via the miHoYo App. Simply head to the bottom-right “My” section and select Contact Customer Service to submit a support ticket.
