Four Games and Out? Fenerbahçe Faces Another Coaching Shake-Up, Tedesco on the Brink

According to Turkish outlet Sabah Spor, tensions between Fenerbahçe and newly appointed head coach Domenico Tedesco have escalated dramatically. The Italian-German coach, who has been in charge for just two weeks and four matches, is already on the verge of being dismissed. If that happens, the club will be forced to pay a hefty €4 million compensation to his staff.

Tedesco’s short stint has yielded an uninspiring record of 1 win, 2 draws, and 1 defeat, but the bigger issue lies in the dressing room. Reports claim he has failed to win over key players—particularly new summer signings. Training ground clashes with defender Archie Brown and post-match remarks that angered striker Aktürkoğlu have only worsened his situation.

This would mark Fenerbahçe’s second managerial sacking this season. Earlier, the club parted ways with José Mourinho after back-to-back failures to qualify for the Champions League. Despite his legendary reputation, Mourinho’s strained relationship with the board became untenable, forcing an early exit.

Fenerbahçe, one of Turkey’s most ambitious clubs, dreams of breaking Galatasaray’s domestic dominance while also competing in Europe. Yet constant managerial changes have delivered little progress. After seven rounds of the Süper Lig, the gap with Galatasaray has only widened.

For Fenerbahçe, sacking coaches may provide short-term relief, but it does little to close the real gap in squad strength. In the end, these expensive payouts risk becoming wasted money rather than solutions.
