Competing with Apple for Talent! NIO Launches Massive Hiring Drive as Production Surges

October 21 — The electric vehicle industry is buzzing again! NIO has just shattered its delivery record, surpassing 10,600 units in a single week, with the ONVO L90 alone exceeding 3,500 deliveries.

Confirming the rumors, NIO co-founder and president Qin Lihong revealed that the Hefei plant is rapidly ramping up production capacity and has entered a large-scale hiring phase.

Between October 13 and 19, NIO’s core brand delivered over 4,000 units, ONVO exceeded 5,000, and the Firefly brand crossed 1,500 — marking the first time in NIO’s history that weekly deliveries topped 10,000.

But behind the surge in orders lies an intense “talent war.”
A viral screenshot showed a NIO HR manager posting in a chat group:

“NIO’s production is going crazy — we’re competing with Apple and other tech giants for workers! Offices are full, interviews are happening in the cafeteria!”

And it’s no exaggeration.
The company is recruiting across multiple departments — including assembly, quality inspection, painting, and stamping — offering a base salary of 6,200 RMB, rising to over 8,000 RMB with overtime and bonuses, along with year-end rewards and full social insurance.

When asked about the recruitment frenzy, Qin Lihong confirmed to National Business Daily:

“Yes, it’s true — production is scaling up fast.”

Job listings for “NIO Factory Direct Hire” have flooded recruitment platforms, offering positions in core production lines with salaries between 6,000 and 8,500 RMB.

A leaked document, bearing NIO’s official company seal, further revealed that the company needs an additional 1,000 workers by the end of October to meet surging demand for the ONVO L90 and ES8 models. NIO reportedly sought help from Hefei’s local government and vocational schools to channel trained interns.

CEO William Li (Li Bin) stated in a recent internal meeting that production capacity for the new ES8 is fully booked through Q1 2026, with a Q4 goal of 150,000 total deliveries across all brands and a monthly capacity target of 56,000 units.

He emphasized urgency:

“With EV tax policies expected to change early next year, the end of this year is our demand peak — every car counts.”

For NIO, this is more than just a production ramp-up.
It’s a battle of speed, supply, and talent — and the race is on.
